Typically when periodontal disease, cysts, tumors and granulomas are treated, the diseased portion is removed, leaving pockets or voids in the bone and around the teeth. Bioplant HTR may be used to fill these pockets and restore the bone and gumline. Additionally, Bioplant HTR may be used in the treatment of the "ailing implant": that is, one with surrounding gum and hard tissue disease, a condition called peri-implant disease.
Bioplant HTR Synthetic Bone alloplast is effective in treating bone defects caused by periodontal disease. Utilizing Bioplant HTR-40, the smaller bead size, well-mixed with marrow blood, the synthetic bone is easily applied, doesnt migrate and rapidly permits the process of bone ingrowth by filling the defect (void). Bioplant HTR acts as a matrix for bone repair. (A sterile, single use pipette is available to carry the marrow blood to the syringe or dappen dish.) The bacteria resistant characteristics of the natural negative charge of Bioplant HTR reduces the possibility of further infection. Bioplant HTR granules can also be grafted with an antibiotic for release in an infected area in appropriate cases.
